Our research team at the University of Málaga, in collaboration with the University of Valencia and UTHealth Houston, has discovered new anti-amyloid compounds with potential for treating Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. These diseases are linked to toxic protein aggregates in the brain. Our newly identified compounds have shown effectiveness in inhibiting and dissolving these aggregates, opening the door to future therapies. Recognizing the potential of our discovery, the University of Málaga has filed a patent application to protect these innovative compounds (https://umapatent.uma.es/es/patent/identificacion-de-compuestos-que-previenen-lae60/).
