David’s latest work, published in Communications Biology, has reached national press, helping to make the research more accessible and understandable to a broader audience. The articles highlight the identification of a metabolite produced by the bacterium Bacillus velezensis that effectively targets and eliminates harmful fungi and nematodes affecting crops. Cyclo(Pro-Tyr) has a dual effect: it combats pathogens and promotes root growth by activating the plants’ defense mechanisms.
